To be Christ to Everyone
To see Christ in Everyone
Pentecost marked a turning point in the Church as the Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, went out with courage to boldly proclaim the Good News, the Gospel, to the world and bear witness with their lives to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But Pentecost was not just a single event that took place 2000 years ago. The Sacrament of Confirmation is your Pentecost and thus also marks a turning point in your life as a Christian as you too "receive the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit" and "are strengthened with the power to bear witness to Christ for the building up of his Body in faith and charity" (Rite of Confirmation, Introduction, 1-2). This sacrament also marks your full initiation into the Catholic Church and thus celebrates your entrance into the fullness of Catholic community life. It is your "Yes" to a life of community and service in the Catholic Church.
Confirmation at St. Joan of Arc is celebrated in the Fall of a student's Junior year of high school (11th Grade). All candidates to be confirmed at St. Joan of Arc must enroll in the parsh Confirmation program which begins in the Fall of their Sophomore year of high school (10th Grade).
A full list of requirements for sacrament preparation will be provided to the candidates and their families at the beginning of each yearly session. If you would like more information about our Confirmation program, please contact Carly and Ryan Flynn or Linda Monistere.
